After retiring as a high school assistant principal in 2009, Teri Pinney founded T. Pinney & Associates LLC, a grant writing consultancy. Drawing on her expertise in education and writing—honed as a former Language Arts teacher—she dedicated herself to serving nonprofit organizations, universities, and government agencies.
Her proficiency quickly garnered widespread recognition, attracting a diverse clientele, including utility companies, university professors, research scientists, and agricultural organizations. Through her strategic grant writing, she helped secure more than $10 million in critical funding. In addition to grant acquisition, she also crafted business plans and contract bids, further expanding her impact.
Within two years, her solo practice evolved into a full-service firm, staffed with skilled researchers, editors, and technical writers. Under her leadership, T. Pinney & Associates LLC became a trusted partner for educational institutions, research organizations, government agencies, nonprofits, and county governments nationwide—facilitating millions of dollars in funding. She has also served as an educational consultant and grant development specialist under contract for schools and nonprofits.
Beyond her professional achievements, Teri has been an active leader in her Florida community, serving on multiple boards of directors. She ran for local school board and the Florida House of Representatives, demonstrating her commitment to public service.
Teri holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tampa and an MBA from Chaminade University. In 2014, she earned the prestigious Grant Professional Certification (GPC) from the Grant Professional Certification Institute, solidifying her status as a top expert in the field. Teri is also the author of "The Missing Heart: Chronicles of an Educator," (available on Amazon.com).
